Pennsylvania has an estimated 280,798(2.4%) of adults self-reporting signs of a gambling problem. It also boasts a 5th ranked (nationally) $6.64 billion in revenue from gambling. Gambling revenue comes from 26,510 electronic machines, traditional lottery, video lottery, casinos, racetrack casinos, Pari-mutual betting and charity gambling which makes it easier for compulsive gamblers to diversify.
Pennsylvania does rank 7th nationally for gambling treatment funding with 65 cents per capita. This is provided services including a helpline that fielded 2,231 answered calls for 2012. The state also paid for 116 gamblers and 33 related individuals to receive outpatient treatment in 2012.
