A Variation on: Autobiography In Five Short Chapters

I head toward my addiction.
The addiction is a deep hole
I fall into it.
I am lost… I feel helpless.
I blame others.
It takes forever to escape it.
2.
I head toward the addiction again.
The addiction is still a deep hole.
I pretend it does not exist.
I fall into it again.
I can’t believe I am back in the hole
but, I still blame others.
It again takes forever to escape.
3.
I head toward the addiction again.
I see the deep hole of Addiction.
I pretend it is not there
I still fall in …it is a patterned habit.
I see it clearly
I know this place.
I take responsibility for it.
I escape immediately.
4.
I head toward the addiction again.
I see the deep hole of addiction
I avoid it at the last second.
5.
I change my path avoiding the addiction entirely.
